  LATE SUMMER DRIVE AND PICNIC

  10:30 am - Starting Point at Firenze Italian Restaurant, 162 South Rancho Santa Fe Rd., Encinitas, CA 92024

  The drive is very easy, scenic, and only about an hour long

  
  

  Picnic - Lower San Dieguito County Park: 15938 El Camino Real, Rancho Santa Fe, CA 92091

  Drive departs at 11:00 AM

  
  

  

  If you need Suppliers for your picnic, Harvest Ranch Market is located two stores down from Firenze. Also, Champagne Bakery is in the same center and is open for takeout - orders may be submitted on-line as well.  

  
  

  Drive will end at the San Dieguito County Park - “LOWER SECTION” off El Camino Real.  Parking is $3. The map route will be emailed prior to the drive, and also be given out on arrival.  The park has beautiful wide-open spaces with lots of shade.  Don’t forget your chairs, sunscreen, hat and food maybe an umbrella.

  
  

  If you want to just do the drive - or just meet for the picnic that is fine.  This is a dog- friendly park, you can bring your four-legged friend.

  It is not too early to be thinking about our next annual event.  Yes, our Holiday Party has been Moved to January to Welcome the New Year.   This is one of our most popular events each year. The venue is the Banquet Room at Silver Gate Yacht Club on Shelter Island with a beautiful view of San Diego Bay, Coronado, Point Loma, and over a thousand yachts that are moored in the harbor. Mingle with your SDJC friends while sharing your choice of beverage, enjoy a feast prepared by our chef specifically for this occasion, dance to music provided by DJ Jonathan Mendoza, celebrate the recipients of our 2026 Service Awards, and witness the installation of Club Officers for 2026.
